More designers for Trinidad and Tobago Fashion Week
The Tourism Development Company Limited is proud to support the highly anticipated third instalment of Fashion Week Trinidad and Tobago (FWTT) which runs from May 29 to June 6.
The eight day melange of glamour and fashion kicks-off at Pigeon Point in pristine Tobago from May 29-31 and moves to the Hyatt Regency Trinidad in the vibrant capital city of Port of Spain from June 2.
The impressive line-up includes a skin care and make-up seminar with celebrity make-up artiste Theo Faulkner and America’s Next Top Model finalists Bree Sullkac and Bianca Golden, and the display of collections from 40 local designers who will be joined by ten of their Caribbean counterparts.
“Forty is the highest number of local designers featured in their own country of any Caribbean fashion event,” said Richard Young, Artistic Director, Fashion Week Trinidad and Tobago. “We were flooded with requests and interest, not only locally but regionally, so we were able to select an eclectic mix to reach a wider cross-section of fashion,” Young added.
In addition to major Caribbean labels like Radical Designs, Claudia Pegus, FAVALA, Avark and Heather Jones, many young designers will have an opportunity to show their work to a regional and international audience.
New elements include after parties, daily seminars to promote the future sustainability of Trinidad and Tobago’s Fashion Industry and The Buyers Gallery, a trade show aimed at promoting the sale of designer wear, accessories, jewellery and beauty products. Open from 10am to 10pm the Buyer’s Gallery will be accessible to the public from June 2-6.
