TDC’s New Board
The twelve member Board is being led by Chairman Mr. Rajiv O.M. Shandilya, Chief Executive Officer of the Chancellor Hotel and Conference Center.
In addressing guests at the Installation Ceremony, Chairman Shandilya said the Board will follow strict ethical guidelines in delivery and productivity and will “move TDC forward by putting our country first”.
He also outlined the three sustainable goals that will drive their focus:
- Aggressive branding of Trinidad and Tobago
- Infrastructure Development of sites and attractions
- Improved service delivery and training
RAJIV O.M. SHANDILYA (Chairman)
Chief Executive Officer of The Chancellor Hotel and Conference Center, a modern small hotel. Possesses a B.Sc. Hon’s in Computer Information Systems. Extensive experience in various aspects of Information Technology, IT Implementation and Management Re-Engineering.
JANELLE PENNY COMMISSIONG-CHOW (Deputy Chairman)
Holder of the Trinity Cross and 1977 Miss Universe. Business Entrepreneur and experienced in Marketing and Communications.
VINDRA AMAR
Attorney at Law/Executive Director of Brava International Limited for the past 17 years, a food and beverage manufacturing and distribution business ; Involved in the humanitarian field in leadership roles for 20 years, 16 of 20 years, involvement has been voluntary, therefore extracurricular to substantive job)
DYANAND MAHARAJ
Managing Director, Dylam Company Limited. Extensive experience in the areas of Marketing, Sales Management, and Engineering.
CHERYLE DUBAY-TEWARIE
Business Development Manager at UWI. Master’s Degree in Business Administration and extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of Project Management and Tourism.
SASHA BALKARAN
Academic training in International and Corporate Finance. Significant experience in corporate and investment banking in the local and regional capital markets, including Central America. BSc. in Economics, Finance Concentration, from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
DR. ALLAN BACHAN
A Consultant in Change Management and Organisational Development; Academic training and extensive experience in Sustainable Community Development, Project Management and Strategic Planning and Management. Executive Director of the Non-Government Group Turtle Village Trust and has 15 years experience working with rural communities.
FEROZA KHAN-ABDUL
A Banker with over 17 years’ experience at a managerial level in the banking industry. Considerable experience in the areas of Sales and Operations Management.
RYAN D’ARCY
Account Director at the leading advertising agency Mc Cann Erickson Trinidad. Possesses degrees in Hospitality Management and Hotel/Motel Management. Solid work experience in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Entrepreneur with experience in marketing, sales, service, purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, and human resource management and strategic planning.
CAROL ANN BIRCHWOOD JAMES
Teacher by profession with a Diploma in Education and a Certificate in Event Management from George Washington University; Managing Director of Lanbank Co Ltd; Past President of the Tobago Tourism and Hospitality Association. Established several successful land and tourism developments in Tobago
