Trinidad & Tobago welcomes royalty
British Royalty Prince Edward and his wife, Princess Sophia, arrived in Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, February 28, as part of a tour of the Caribbean in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The couple arrived aboard a British military vessel and was greeted by the sounds of steelpan music and limbo dancers as they came ashore at the Cruise Ship Complex located in Port of Spain, the capital of this twin-island nation.
Edward is the Queen’s youngest child. Older brother Prince Charles visited Trinidad and Tobago with his wife Camilla in March 2008.
