Pan Yard Sensations For Cricket Fans
INTERNATIONAL cricket fans visiting Trinidad and Tobago for the ICC Cricket World Cup will have the opportunity to experience the call of “de oil drum” at the Pan Yard Sensations 2007 series of concerts, hosted by the Tourism Development Company (TDC) in conjunction with Pan Trinbago.
This year’s series of exciting steelband concerts kicks off on Wednesday, March 14th, at the PCS Nitrogen Starlift pan yard, Mucurapo Road, St James.
Coinciding with the hosting of the Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, this year’s Pan Yard Sensations will feature dynamic performances from Panorama champs Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars and bpTT Renegades, one of the oldest steelbands in Trinidad and Tobago.
Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars will perform on Sunday, March 18th at their historic Duke Street home, while the legendary bpTT Renegades will close the concert series on Friday, March 23rd, at their Charlotte Street, Port of Spain pan yard.
With Trinidad and Tobago playing host to eight of the 16 teams participating in Cricket World Cup, Pan Yard Sensations will provide steelbands with an opportunity to showcase the National Instrument to an international audience outside of the Carnival period.
There is a $25 TT admission fee to each concert. Visitors, staying at local hotels, are eligible to receive free passes to attend the concerts and access the complimentary shuttle service provided.
